With over
65 years of experience, there is no doubt that
Snohomish
Flying Service (SFS) has
earned a reputation as an industry leader successfully training
professional and competent pilots since 1945.
Flight
training cost estimates are based on Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR)
Part 141 completion requirements and because SFS is a Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA) approved school, the ground and flight times required
to complete are lower….saving you time and money.
Instruction is conducted under a
strictly monitored FAA approved syllabus of training with clear objectives
and completion standards; this is not the case under unapproved FAR Part
61 flight training. Under FAR
141, pilot instructors undertake regular flight and ground checks with FAA
Inspectors and the Helicopters used in the training courses undergo
regular FAA maintenance inspections.
An example
regarding cost savings…. a student completing a professional Commercial
Pilot Course under the SFS FAR 141 training program is required to have a
total time of 190 hours. A
student receiving instruction under FAR Part 61 is required to have a
total time of 250 hours. A
professional Commercial Pilot career student training at SFS can save up
to 60 hours of instructional time which translates to a savings greater
than $10,000 based on the minimum course time.
To further
our commitment in a superior learning environment while offering
additional cost savings opportunities, we have invested in the purchase of
180 acres of training land surrounding the airport.
That means the hundreds of dollars
you might spend at other schools flying to and from practice locations can
be immediately invested in your training without accruing unnecessary
flight hours traveling to and from the practice area.
Advanced students with previously
logged flight hours may qualify to receive flight hour credit towards the
advanced course of training provided the previously logged flight hours
meet the eligibility requirements under FAR 141.
Students are encouraged to constantly maintain the frequency of
training as additional time may be required if steady progression is not
maintained; varied learning abilities may also be a determining factor.
Consistent attendance enhances learning and reduces repetition of
maneuvers and ground lessons previously completed.
